Eureka Vases

Eureka-Vases

A formula for design

According to the story, an ancient Greek mathematician called Archimedes noticed, while bathing, how water rose by exactly the same amount as the volume of the object emerged in it. Upon which he ran through the streets naked, shouting “Eureka!”. This discovery led to the law of Archimedes.

A single mould will produce a range of unique objects, based on the amount of slib-clay casted into the mould.
Just like Archimedes did, this amount is calculated by
dipping the object into water until the water-line reaches the desired height. By measuring how much the water level rose, the exact amount of slib clay required for that shape can be determined.
